Older Adult Passenger Succumbs to Injuries

A Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore encountered severe turbulence over the Indian Ocean, resulting in the death of a 73-year-old passenger. The Boeing 777 jet, with 348 passengers and 18 crew members on board, was flying over the Arabian Sea when it hit a tropical storm, causing sudden and violent shaking.

Initial reports indicate that the unidentified passenger suffered head injuries from the turbulence. Despite medical attention from the flight crew, the passenger passed away before the plane could make an emergency landing. The flight later diverted to Hyderabad, India, where the deceased passenger was transferred to a hospital.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the turbulence, with a focus on the severity of the tropical storm and the plane's response to the weather conditions.
