Stamford Bridge stunner as Blues grab another London derby win

Chelsea kept their push for European football alive with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Tottenham at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. After a goalless first half, the Blues came out firing in the second period and took the lead courtesy of a fine finish from Benoit Badiashile. Nicolas Jackson then doubled Chelsea's lead with a glancing header, securing all three points for the hosts.

The win sees Chelsea move up to eighth in the Premier League table, just three points behind sixth-placed Tottenham. It also keeps their hopes of qualifying for the Europa Conference League alive, with the Blues now just one point behind seventh-placed Fulham.

"Facing a team like Tottenham is never easy, and it's a derby, but today was fantastic.

Spurs, meanwhile, remain in sixth place but could drop down to seventh if Fulham beat Brighton on Tuesday. The defeat also dents their hopes of finishing in the top four and securing Champions League football next season.

The match was played in front of a sell-out crowd at Stamford Bridge, and the atmosphere was electric from the first whistle. Both teams had chances to score in the first half, but it was Chelsea who came out on top after the break.

Badiashile's goal came in the 53rd minute, when he met a cross from Hakim Ziyech with a powerful header. The French defender has been in impressive form since joining Chelsea from Monaco in January, and he was a key part of the Blues' victory on Sunday.

Jackson's goal came just 10 minutes later, when he headed home a free-kick from Cole Palmer. The 21-year-old striker has now scored three goals in his last four Premier League appearances, and he is quickly becoming a fan favorite at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea will now turn their attention to their next match, which is a trip to Leeds United on Saturday. Tottenham, meanwhile, will host Arsenal in the North London derby on Sunday.
